You could be in: Academic Bowl, a Cappella Choir, Chess Club, Color Guard, Drama, Forensics, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Math Team, National Honor Society, Newspaper, Singing for Chapel, Science Club, SHO Team, Student Council, Swing Choir, Teens for Christ, Technology, Viseography, Visual Arts, Yearbook.
You first should contact Mr. Steve Lauber, Director of Admissions. He can arrange a tour, he can meet with your family. He can also discuss activities that students can be involved in at Lakeside Lutheran, and find answers for questions you may have.
Graduates of Lakeside Lutheran can use what ever talent God has given to them. You can go into the military, go directly to work or a trade school, or attend a college of your choosing, including Martin Luther College. Lakeside Lutheran alumni have found success in pursuits outside of their vocations, too.
If you are going on to college, most admissions require two years of a world language class (LLHS offers German, Latin and Spanish). However, a second language is not a requirement to graduate from Lakeside Lutheran.
Music helps you praise the LORD the rest of your life and helps you develop as an individual. Freshman must be in choir at least one semester. If the student is in band, he or she may opt out of choir, but we encourage both.
Our beautiful, residential, 35-acre campus is located in Lake Mills, Wisconsin at 231 Woodland Beach Road (zip code 53551).
The cost of bussing is included in your tuition. Seven different bus routes run to all corners of our federation. You may also drive your own car or your family car to school each day, or you may be driven by another person.
The total cost of educating students Lakeside Lutheran is met through a combination of funding from our 31 federation congregations, some third source funding and by your tuition. We received no tax money from the state of Wisconsin as we are not a public school; meanwhile, per student cost of education is actually significantly less than the public system's.
One way you can save for tuition in addition to planning years ahead of attendance is by enrolling in our Scrip program— ½ of your yearly profits go to Lakeside Lutheran and ½ go to your tuition. You can even have relatives save Scrip profits in your name!
In the literal definition of the words, no, we aren’t a Bible School. However, our focus is on the Word of God in everything we do. God’s Word is used in Religion class, Chapel devotions and every class is taught in the light of God’s Word. The Law and the Gospel are used to motivate and discipline students. Also, we emphasize that your faith in Christ is lived every minute of every day. Your faith is not just for church or at school.
Lakeside has many groups to encourage service to our Savior, school, and community. These would include Bands and Choirs praising God, the National Honor Society, SHO Team, and Teens for Christ. In addition, different homerooms and team/clubs do things during the year to serve others out of love for Christ.
You certainly may if you wish. However, Lakeside Lutheran offers two choices of hot lunch each day, made fresh in the school kitchen by our faithful kitchen staff. The meals are homemade every day and have all of the food groups and nutrients that your mom would want you to eat with each meal and that the government requires! (See examples here during the school year.) You also may participate in the Federal Free/Reduced lunch program if your family is eligible.
