Warrior Arts

Concerts at LLHS

There are traditionally five concerts during each school year on campus.
  • Fall Concert: first or second Sunday in November. Features Warrior Band & elementary Cadet Band. Warrior Swing Choir also debuts pieces for its annual participation at WELS Choral Fest.
  • Christmas Concert: the Sunday before Christmas break and features all choirs and the band. The gym is transformed into visual worship with stunning decor and tribute luminaries light up the school.
  • Pops Concert: last Sunday in January or first Sunday in February. Elementary student artwork at the Visual Arts Fest is showcased. Music typically has a trendy and light-hearted theme with pieces from bands and choirs, including the Warrior Jazz Band.
  • Easter Concert: the Wednesday evening before Holy Week begins and prepares hearts for the days leading up to the most wonderful day of the year!
  • Commencement Concert: the Sunday before graduation. Combines sacred and secular musical that thanks God for another school year and celebrate the talents of those in the music department.

Wisconsin State Music Association solo/ensemble festivals

The 2024 WSMA district festival is at Columbus High School on Feb 24. Download a schedule of all LL events sorted by time. God bless our students' efforts to glorify Him with their musical abilities! Map of the Columbus HS layout with sites is available here

Note for those wondering about state WSMA. If an entry contains an "A" in the "ex/class/num" column and that performance is awarded a 1st rating AND a star at the district fest, that means the entry has qualified to participate in the state festival at UW-Whitewater the last Saturday in April.

2024 Wisconsin State Music Association festival results:

At the state WSMA festival at UW-W, solos and ensembles that are awarded a "starred-1st" at the district fest in February are invited to perform before judges again.
All 34 of our eligible entries performed at state, with 23 being awarded 1sts again, including our Swing Choir and the Percussion Ensemble.
What's more is that a remarkable 3 of our soloists were nominated for the rare "exemplary award" by their judges: senior Aaron Hirsch for his musical theater performance, sophomore Elizabeth Mellon for her alto vocal solo. Sophomore Grace Zhou was not only nominated but won an exemplary award for her piano solo.
Congrats, Warriors!
