Here to Help

Making the decision to send your teen to Lakeside Lutheran is a serious commitment of time and money, and no one understands that better than those who help keep it all working for the teachers and students.

Here is a listing of links other parents have found helpful, in hopes that it makes the business end of your child's LLHS education more efficient and convenient.

Each spring/summer, enrolled new families receive an email (sent to the address families provide as "primary" when they enroll) that has information and a personalized link that allows them to review their tuition account and set up automatic payments.

Lunch Account

Student lunches are $3.35 per day. A carton of milk is 35 cents.
Students who wish to purchase hot lunch or a carton of milk must present their student IDs in the lunch line, and the card is swiped to deduct the purchase from the students' accounts. Students may not use other students' IDs (even applies to siblings, due to federal lunch reporting requirements).

School Payment Portal is being offered as a safe, secure and convenient way for parents/guardians of students to manage lunch payments.  You will have the opportunity to track purchases, create reminders and set up automatic payments. If you do not want to pay online and would like to continue sending in money with your student, you are still able to create a username and password to track your students’ purchases and see how much money is on the account.

Below is a guide to setting up your student’s account. Any questions or concerns with a student’s account should be directed to Todd Grundman email: [email protected]

Two options are available to setup your account:
  • OPTION #1: Via the Powerschool Parent Portal using the Single Sign-in Option:
    • Log in to your Parent Powerschool Account.  Use the applications shortcut in the upper right of the portal page and select School Payment Portal from the menu (here is a PDF with more instructions).  You’ll then be prompted to enter a Password – you can use the same password that you use for Powerschool or setup a different one.
    • Once you are logged in, all the students associated with the Parent account should be accessible.
  • OPTION #2: Visit https://www.schoolpaymentportal.com
    • The first time that you visit the website, you will be directed to Click the green button marked CREATE ACCOUNT.  Enter your First Name, Last Name, email address and a password.  Then click the Create Account button located in the lower right corner. Once you have established an account, you will need to use the Parent Login button from the main site to access your account.
    • You will see confirmation that your account has been created successfully.  Next, click the Parent Login Page button, enter your login credentials and click Sign In.  You will then be prompted to verify your email address and instructed to check your email for the confirmation.
    • Once you are logged in, click the Add Student button.
    • Enter the School's Zip Code, 53551, in the field for zip code, then click Continue
    • Available schools will be displayed.  Click Select to the left of the School name
    • Enter the required information for the student that you wish to add to your account, then click Continue
    • Verify the information and click on the blue Add Student to the left of the student's name
    • You will be returned to the Student Access page. Follow the above steps for each student you wish to add to the account

To make payments to lunch accounts:
  • Click the blue button marked Make Cafeteria Deposit
  • Enter the Deposit Amount for each Student listed and click the Continue button.
  • Follow the screen prompts to setup your payment options.

ONLINE PAYMENT FEE STRUCTURE
  • Credit Card Payments (Visa, MasterCard, Discover) 2.3% + $1.00 per transaction
  • ACH (online checking account payments) $1.50 per each $500 deposit level

EXAMPLE:
Parent/Guardian Deposits $100.00 Credit Card Payment: The parent/guardian would be charged $100.00 that is deposited to the district bank account as well as a $3.30 convenience fee paid to us to cover the fee processing expenses.

During the school year, funds can also be added to your lunch account without incurring the convenience fee by placing a check or cash in the provided dropbox located on the east wall of the cafeteria (by the doors). Your balance online will reflect payments made in this way when they are entered by LL personnel. Please note: Any payments made in this way must be placed in an envelope and clearly labeled with the student's name and the amount enclosed. All payments must be placed in the dropbox before period 3 or they will not be recorded until the next day. Payments will not be accepted in the lunch line.

Wisconsin State Tax Deduction for K-12 Tuition

(Please note that in the following, the term “private school” includes Lakeside as well as our Lutheran grade schools.)

Families may use this deduction if they claim a pupil who is enrolled in kindergarten or grades one through twelve in a private school as a dependent for federal income tax purposes on his or her tax return. It is important to note that this is not a tax credit, but a deduction (see Jagler letter below). Any person who pays taxes in Wisconsin and pays private school tuition for dependents is eligible to receive the deduction by filing Schedule PS with their Wisconsin tax return. Please note this is a tax deduction and not a credit. Depending on your income and tax bracket, the tax deduction could save you up to 7% of the tuition paid. Please consult your tax advisor for more details. School staff is not allowed to give you tax advice. The information in this memo is for general guidance only and does not consist of legal or tax advice of any kind.

Families can print their tuition receipt from within their SmartTuition accounts. See links at the bottom of this related page.

The LLHS Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) is needed to submit your form. EIN: 39-0991964

Obtain work permits online

16- and 17-year-old minors do NOT have to obtain a work permit prior to beginning work.
Minors younger than 16 will still need to obtain a work permit prior to beginning work.

Work Permit Update as of spring 2023
The state of Wisconsin has recently changed the way that minors younger than 16 obtain a work permit. Previously this had been available in our office, but effective immediately, all work permits should be obtained by parents by online here.
