Wisconsin State Tax Deduction for K-12 Tuition
Families may use this deduction if they claim a pupil who is enrolled in kindergarten or grades one through twelve in a private school as a dependent for federal income tax purposes on his or her tax return. It is important to note that this is not a tax credit, but a deduction (see Jagler letter below). Any person who pays taxes in Wisconsin and pays private school tuition for dependents is eligible to receive the deduction by filing Schedule PS with their Wisconsin tax return. Please note this is a tax deduction and not a credit. Depending on your income and tax bracket, the tax deduction could save you up to 7% of the tuition paid. Please consult your tax advisor for more details. School staff is not allowed to give you tax advice. The information in this memo is for general guidance only and does not consist of legal or tax advice of any kind.
The LLHS Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) is needed to submit your form. EIN: 39-0991964

Obtain work permits online
Minors younger than 16 will still need to obtain a work permit prior to beginning work.
The state of Wisconsin has recently changed the way that minors younger than 16 obtain a work permit. Previously this had been available in our office, but effective immediately, all work permits should be obtained by parents by online here. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. McKenna at [email protected].
