Favorite Bible Passage: 1 John 4:10 "This is love: not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins." (EHV)
I teach German 1 and 2.
I've lived in Wisconsin for the majority of my life and have been blessed to visit three other continents. I was a member of the last graduating class of Northwestern Preparatory School and continued on to major in Ministerial Education at Martin Luther College. After my junior year, I was an Au Pair to the wonderful Pradella family in Ratingen, Germany, which allowed me to gain fluency in German, travel across much of Europe, play soccer, and make lifelong friends. After graduating from MLC, I was assigned as a Tutor at LPS, where I was blessed to be able to monitor dorm life, teach German 2 & 3, and coach soccer.
Shortly thereafter, as part of my 8 year obligation in the Army Reserves (Thanks Uncle Sam for paying for my education!), I was sent to the deserts of Kuwait and Iraq. There I met my husband, Sam, who courted me with lukewarm water and T-rations. Upon returning to the U.S., I completed my M.A. in German and Education at UW-Madison and a second M.A. in German from Middlebury College in Vermont. I completed the doctoral studies coursework at UW-Madison, but discontinued the program after passing my preliminary exams to raise my kids, who are thrilled to have to learn German at home!
As my German students can attest, I love Lutheran hymns! Thanks to the ELS for the solidly confessional Evangelical Lutheran Hymnary!
